The Traditional Annual Hill Climb Challenge Race 2026

Race Information:

Distance is approximately 4.5km.

Race starts at 10am on Sunday 22^nd March 2026.

Congregation in Car Park by the Lions Club in Queensway (Click here to see location on map).

Individual Registration Fee is £10 for the race.

Minimum age is 16.

Race Route: Commences at point adjacent to Lions Club → Down along Queensway → Up Ragged Staff → Turn up Europa Road and all the way to the Top of the Rock via Engineer Road → Past the Pillars of Hercules → Up towards St Michael’s Cabin → Continuing up past the Sky Walk to the finish line just below the Top Station Cable Car.

A medal will be handed out to all participants at the end of the race.

Trophies for overall 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd male/female in the following categories:

• Senior 16 to 39
• Masters A 40 to 49
• Masters B 50+

The following must be adhered to:

• No holding area for clothes or personal belongings will be available.
• Bibs not to be returned back once used.
• Toilet facilities may not be available on the day of the race.

Note: This is a ‘Road Race’ and as with all road races care must be taken with road traffic and pedestrians. Marshals will be placed at intervals across the route.

Important to note the race is a run up a continuous steep incline to the Top of the Rock with very little flat running.

How to Register:

Race Registration:

No registration on the day. Registration is to be done prior to the event with a cut-off date of Thursday 19^th March 2026. This must be done by completing the online registration form available on this page under “Race Registration”.

Bib Collection Information:

Please note that for those who already have a bib from the GIBFIBRE Road Runners League, there is no need to collect a new bib. For those who don´t however, please contact Council Member Mr. Roy Torres (+35054029173) who will be available on the morning of the race between 9:15am and 9:45am for bib collection.
