ALL U12, U14 & U16 ATHLETES CAN ONLY TAKE PART IN 3 EVENTS ON ONE DAY UNDER UK RULES AND ONLY 1 DISTANCE EVENT
AGE GROUPS
U12 = [School Year 5 & 6]
U14 = [School Year 7 & 8]
U16 = [School Year 9 & 10]
U18 = [School Year 11 & 12]
U20 = [School year 13 & 14 – Year 14s, providing their birthday is after 1st January).
*U20 and Seniors will compete as one age group.
FIELD EVENT TRIALS
U12, U14 & U16 - 3 trials in field events except HJ & PV.
U18, U20 & Senior - 3 trials in field events, with top 6 placed athletes receiving a further 3 trials, except HJ & PV.
Note that U20 & Seniors will compete as one age group, and therefore only six athletes will progress from both U20 and Senior age groups to the final 3 trials. U18 will be considered its own age group, and six U18's will progress.

East Wales (EWA) (A) Birth: If born in Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Powys and Caerphilly (B) Residence: If have been resident, (9 months) continuously in East Wales since August 1st 2024 (C) Retention: If having qualified under (b) or (c), they retain the qualification until they acquire residential qualification and compete in the championships of another Welsh region or an English county AND They have not taken part in a different Welsh Regional or English County Championships and not represented another Welsh Region or and English County in an Inter-Regional or Inter County event since October 1st 2024
South Wales (SWA) (A) Birth: If born in one of the five administrative counties of Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taff and the Vale of Glamorgan or in the former Mid Glamorgan section of Caerphilly (previous selected athletes only) (B) Residence: If have been resident, (9 months) continuously in South Wales since August 1st 2024 (C) Retention: If having qualified under (b) or (c), they retain the qualification until they acquire residential qualification and compete in the championships of another Welsh region or an English county AND They have not taken part in a different Welsh Regional or English County Championships and not represented another Welsh Region or and English County in an Inter-Regional or Inter County event since October 1st 2024
South/ East Wales University (GUEST) We are accepting athletes who study at any of the South Wales, or East Wales University Institutions (Cardiff Met, Cardiff Uni & Uni of South Wales). Note that University guests will not be eligible for medals. If entering as a university guest, please register using your university club. If eligible for South/East Regional medals, please enter using your club, and regional code (EWA/SWA)

All entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself familiar with and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.
The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the date of entry, whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.
