Advice for Throws Workshop with David Littlejohn

Wednesday 22 April 2026 | 6:30pm–8:00pm | Mary Peters Track

David Littlejohn is a Level 2 Athletics Ireland qualified throws coach who has been coaching athletes across County Kerry for more than a decade. A competitive thrower himself, David has won numerous provincial and national medals and has helped guide multiple juvenile athletes to national level competition.

Develop your understanding of the fundamentals of throwing in a relaxed and practical workshop designed for athletes and coaches of all levels. Explore the key dynamics behind the throwing events, build confidence and ask questions in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

This relaxed and practical indoor workshop is ideal for any athlete or coach who would like to begin learning, or further develop their understanding of, the fundamentals and dynamics of throwing. Designed as a non-throwing session, David will talk through the key positions, movements and technical principles behind the throwing events in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

The evening will include a 30-minute demonstration session, using an Athletics NI assistant coach to demonstrate techniques and positions, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Tea, coffee and sweet treats will be available throughout the evening. The workshop costs £5 to cover venue hire.
