2026 Format changes
U12 SUPERteams
This event will include a regional heat for U12 athletes.
Clubs wishing to take part in the 2026 National SUPERteams Final must earn their place by qualifying through a Regional Heat.
Heat 1: Edinburgh – 26/04
Heat 2: Aberdeen 17/05
Heat 2: Kilmarnock – 17/05
Heat 4: Cumbernauld – 30/05
Clubs may enter as many eligible athletes as they wish into the SUPERteams event (not strictly a team of four, as in previous years). Full details about the SUPERteams competition format can be found on the fixture page for the SUPERteams National Final HERE.
U14 District Championships
Athletes may enter a maximum of 3 events (2 track and 1 field or 2 field and 1 track). All results will be scored using SATS tables, with athletes accumulating points in each of their chosen events. Points will be split into Gold, Silver and Bronze bands, with all athletes in each band receiving a scottishathletics pin badge for their achievement.
All races will be run as timed finals. Athletes in throws and horizontal jumps will receive 4 trials, and vertical jumps will operate under standard rules (starting heights on the timetable).
Athletes opting to enter only one or two events and will still be scored, but will not be eligible for a pin badge.
Note: there will be no individual event medals awarded at this event for Under 14 athletes.
U16 District Championships
Medals will be awarded to the first three athletes in each individual event in the Under 16 age group.
Track events will be run as heats, semi-finals and finals as appropriate for the number of entries received. In horizontal jumps and throws, all athletes will receive 3 trials, with the top 8 receiving a further 3 trials. Indicative High Jump and Pole Vault starting heights will be considered once entries close. The final heights and progressions will be confirmed in the final timetable and pre-event athlete information.
100m and 1500m events are offered for wheelchair and frame running athletes. Ambulant para-athletes may enter any events within the U16 programme and will be awarded para-category medals for their performances (1st-3rd).
North Districts note: due to the change of venue this year, there will be no 3000m contested. North medals will be available in the Steeplechase instead.
