Kick off spring with a riverside race night on the Newcastle/ Gateshead Quayside, proudly delivered in partnership with Wallsend Harriers & AC. The programme features the Quayside 5K, the Junior Quayside 3K, and a fun U11 Kids Race. Expect smooth organisation, a lively crowd, and a finish you will remember.
The route is flat, World Athletics measured, and perfect for PBs or a first 5K. You will run along the Quayside path with views of the Tyne and a roll call of landmarks. Pass the Swing Bridge, then run beneath the High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge, and Redheugh Bridge. Cross the Gateshead Millennium Bridge to finish in Baltic Square with the skyline behind you.
The Quayside 5K also serves as the NECAA Championships and hosts the Wallsend Harriers Terry O’Gara Trophy. It attracts leading athletes from across the region and creates a brilliant racing spectacle for everyone on the course.
