Welsh 3000m & 5000m Championships

including 100m, 400m, 1000m & 3000m Wheelchair Races 

ENTRIES CLOSE Tuesday 18th June 23:59

3000m age groups: U15(Yr8 & 9) U17 (yr 10 & 11) 5000m AGE GROUPS: U20 & Senior

ALL EVENTS WILL BE SEEDED BASED ON ATHLETES P10 PROFILE/RESULTS

3000m are closed to Welsh eligible athletes only for the U15 & U17 age groups

5000m is Open to include non Welsh athletes from U20 & Senior age groups

currently the 5000m are at separated gender and times, if insufficient numbers for two races they will be merged into one race

also the 3000m races are split by age and gender, they may be merged if insufficient numbers for separate races.

ALL Non Welsh Athletes please indicate on your entry by selecting NW when the option appears.

800m BMC races are included on the day and entries are taken via the 

Newport (22 June 2024) - British Milers Club

NB: Welsh Championship entrants must be Welsh by A-birth, B-Parents and or C-residence. B & C conditions must have been ratified before entry.

The above events are open to non-Welsh athletes who then in the U15 U17 age groups will not be part of the Welsh Championships

Non-Welsh U20 and older age groups will be included into the Welsh Championships and must indicate on entry they are not Welsh.

U15 ENTRIES CAN ONLY TAKE PART IN ONE DISTANCE RACE ON THE NIGHT BUT MAY SELECT MORE THAN ONE!

All entrants shall be deemed to have made him/herself familiar with, and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the [date of entry], whether or not the entrant is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK. [UKA website link]

Any athlete wishing to retire from the sport of athletics must put this in writing to the club and Welsh Athletics and cancel any applicable membership. Official retirement will remove the athlete from being under the auspices of UKA’s anti-doping rules.
