Athletics NI will be hosting a "Transitioning from Leading to Coaching in Endurance" workshop at Queens Sport on Sunday 21st January from 9:30am-12:30pm. The workshop, which involves a mixture of theoretical and practical elements, will focus on the following:
- The difference between leading and coaching in Endurance
- How to deliver an effective RAMP warm-up
- Technical elements of Endurance running
- Energy systems
- Planning your sessions and approaches to training
The workshop is aimed at those who are currently qualified at Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) level who are looking to develop their existing knowledge, thinking of going on to complete their Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) level or simply for any coach who wishes to refresh their knowledge in the above topics. All candidates should have a minimum of a LiRF qualification or equivalent to attend.
The workshop will be led by Mark Kirk, Athletics NI Endurance Coordinator and Endurance Coach & Paula Wallace, former Athletics NI Running Participation Coach and current LiRF qualification tutor.
The cost of the workshop is £10. Please note entries are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
