Athletics NI Performance Pathway Manager Tom Reynolds will lead a theoretical and practical session for coaches and athletes on sprint hurdles. 

Tom has coached four sprint hurdlers from schools level to major age group championships in previous years, three of whom went on to compete at senior major championships including Commonwealth Games, European and World Championships.

The theory session will include:

• Key Performance Indicators for hurdles at various levels of performance
• Video analysis and measuring hurdle splits
• Common technical errors in beginner, experienced and expert hurdlers
• Periodisation of the season in hurdles

The practical session will include (athletes participating, coaches observing and interacting):

• Hurdles specific warm up
• Technical drills
• Block Starts over hurdles
