Helix Pond Races 7th June 2024 – Runner's instructions
Venue: The event is being held at the Helix Park Pond

You should be aware of the following important information:
- the car park is at Falkirk Football Stadium. This can be entered from Falkirk Road A904 or the A9, at the roundabout by the fire station. There will be marshals to direct you.
Falkirk Grahamston train station is a 1.5-mile walk/jog from the venue.
Toilets/changing facilities are located within the football stadium, which is 600m from the race venue. Additional limited toilets/disabled toilets can be accessed at the Helix Pond Café/registration area.
Event
We are grateful to our race sponsors Falkirk Council, Falkirk FC, Ronhill Specials, Julian’s Veg and Helix Junior parkrun for their support of the event.
Race timetable is as follows: see the list at the end for the names in each race. These have been decided on given Seasons Bests, and if that wasn’t given, then PBs.

17:50 Race 2 Distance 1 mile

Declarations for all events will open at 16:30 and close 10 mins before each race. Declarations will be situated at the Helix café. Please note: if you’ve entered both distances you need to collect 2 race numbers and 2 chips.
One lap of the course measures c.780 metres. The 1-mile race is 2 laps + 54m, and the 3k is c.3.8 laps. The course has been officially measured and certified as accurate.
Athletes are asked to congregate 5 minutes before their start time around the start area. An official will then call you to line up when it is safe to do so.
First Aid
Should you feel unwell and unable to complete your race then you should stop at the nearest marshal. Marshals will be positioned right round the race loop. The marshal can contact the First Aid team on your behalf or arrange for you to be accompanied back to the registration area.
Other matters.
Please do not run on the course at any time, except in your race. There is another loop right next to the race loop, which is perfect for warming up/cooling down.
The car park and race loop area will have marshals. They are primarily there for your safety and enjoyment. Please be respectful of any instructions they may give you.
Prizes
Race presentations will take place as per the race schedule, at the registration area.
We are delighted to offer Ronhill clothing prizes prizes for the fastest 3k and 1 mile male and female runners. These prizes will be awarded on the night. There are also ronhill vouchers for the highest age graded male and female runners over either distance. These prizes will be forwarded after calculation of age grades. We thank Ronhill specials for their generosity in providing these prizes.
Water, bananas and oranges are available at the end of your race. Many thanks to Julian’s Veg at Klondyke Garden Centre for kindly supplying these.
Results will be posted asap on FVH website and social media channels.
Marshals
We are extremely grateful to our team of marshals who are giving up their time to ensure you have the best experience possible.
Please respect and listen to any advice/guidance they may give you. They are also happy to answer any of your questions you may have.
