This event is for masters’ athletes (anyone over the age of 35) who wish to compete in the British Masters 10 Mile Road Championships at Freman College, Bowling Green Lane, Buntingford SG9 9BT. Please note the roads are not closed to traffic otherwise perfect.

We have filled our allocation of 120 places for those who have not entered the race directly, but even when all slots are taken one may become free because of a withdrawal.  If you see there are slots left or one has become free because of a withdrawal please continue with your entry to the BMAF championships via Opentrack as normal.  Otherwise, anyone still wishing to compete in the BMAF championships can try to enter the Buntingford 10 directly via the link here. Once you have done this, contact the Competition Secretary to release a slot for your entry to the BMAF Championships.

Cost of entry = £19.00 for BMAF area club members, £24.00 for non-members. This price include the cost of entering the Buntingford 10 Mile race itself organised by Royston Runners. If you have already entered the race directly, entering the BMAF championships is free to members and £5 to non-members

Joining an area club means you don't pay any supplements. VAC have a special rate of £6 for 6 months and many of the clubs don't charge much more for a full year.  This event will also be the VAC 10 mile championships for 2023.

Entries are now closed as the race is full but it is possible to obtain a transfer place as follows:

1. Anyone who wishes to enter the BMAF championships should notify the Race Director, Chris Holton, and they will be placed on a race waiting list. When they reach the top of the waiting list, Chris Holton will ask them to take up of the place of someone who is withdrawing and then instruct us to offer them a place in the championships 
2. Anyone who has entered the BMAF Championships and who now wishes to withdraw should also notify Chris Holton and we will arrange with Chris Holton to refund them their entry fees less the OpenTrack/Stripe administration fees, provided there is someone on the waiting list to take their place.

Medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each five-year age category from 35 to 100+. Entries from UKA clubs are welcome.

You will be registered in the race itself as running for your first claim club so that eligible runners will able to form a club team in the Hertfordshire county championships.  You should wear your first claim club vest.
