Virtual Sportshall Championships 2021

The Virtual Sportshall Athletics Championships will be led by branches to deliver a series of five athletic challenges to their members and participants in May 2021. This event will act as a replacement to the typical National Sportshall Event that has run each year in Grangemouth in February/ March and will also prove to be a coherent follow-up to the Virtual Pentathlon SDS ran in 2020. Many of the events will be duplicated from the pentathlon event and will allow previous participants to measure progress against their results from that event and allow new participants to benchmark their scores against their peers.

Branch areas (and non-branch areas through our Regional Manager network) can invite all athletes in their area to participate in the event and can update participating athletes’ scores to their designated area spreadsheet. The main difference for the Virtual National Sportshall Athletics Championships is that teams will be invited to select a group of 10 athletes that meet specific criteria to be the nominated athletes who compete for the National Sportshall title – in a similar fashion to the traditional Sportshall Championships.
