Varsity XC Virtual 5km Mob Matches

The student XC Varsity Match originally scheduled for 5th December has been postponed to 20th March, pending approval from BoJo
Given expected numbers restrictions in-person Mob Matches are unlikely to be possible, instead Thames are hosting the Mob Matches virtually the weekend of 3-5th December

Race format
Student and alumni race together as Oxford and Cambridge mob match teams
Ladies and Men compete in seperate competitions
Each club fields the biggest “mob” it can muster. Scoring is based on 2 less than the smaller team’s numbers
Points are awarded on the sum of race positions. Lowest total wins
The Age Graded Mob Match is based off age and gender adjusted race times

How to compete

1. Sign in to your OpenTrack account, creating an account if needs be
2. Enter competition by clicking Enter Here below
3. Run 5km within competition dates
4. Upload your GPS proof of activity
5. Individual and team scores are calculated automatically

Rules

• Routes should start/finish in the same location to avoid unfair gains from tail winds or descents. Routes on road, track and mud are accepted
• H&S and social distancing rules should be adhered to
• Times must be based on running “time elapsed”
• The race official reserves the right to implement a time penalty or disqualification on activities with significant deviation from the rules
