Event description:
100m and 200m virtual challenge meeting to break out of lockdown. Athletes can run at their local track, record and submit a time in accordance with the guidelines. The intention is to make a training time trial a little more meaningful, creating a bit of adrenaline while we can't compete as we usually would at this time of year. No prizes, just a good progress check and perhaps some bragging rights.
Rules:
- 100m and 200m to be run on a regulation track.
- Solo or with training partners, respecting social distancing rules if from different households.
- Hand timing accepted but anyone who wants their time to be ranked needs to upload video evidence with their claimed result.
- Video needs to be inline with finish line with a clear view of the athlete's start so that video can be measured from first movement to finish. For video assessment 0.15s will be added for reaction time from the frame before first movement. Timer will stop when first part of torso clearly crosses finish line.
- Please respect usual safety precautions such as shared blocks being wiped down by previous user thoroughly before next athletes handles them, use hand sanitiser before and after handling shred blocks, stopwatches etc.
- Anyone who wishes to enter a time without evidence is welcome to, but please do not be offended it it's not officially ranked as we need a level playing field.
This event is FREE to enter, but optional charity donations can be made to Bringing Hope Charity Birmingham
Results submission:
If submitting your result with video evidence, please upload it as an unlisted YouTube video and submit the URL link in the evidence box.
