The current iteration of the club, Woodford Green AC with Essex Ladies, was formed out of the 1998 merger of Woodford Green AC (founded 1908) and Essex Ladies AC (founded 1921). A founder member of the British Athletics League (now the National Athletics League), the club has a long history of Olympian members, including Sally Gunnell. |
